It’s often said that if you want to hear God laugh, you should tell Him what you have planned. And when looking back on the past few years of RDE and how much our team has grown and our business’s direction, we couldn’t think of a more fitting phrase.
RDE started out with one goal and that was to spread the spirit of celebration, hope, and possibility to as many people as possible. But that goal has gotten so much bigger than us.
If you’ve been around here for a while, you probably have come to know us as a team of event architects who have a passion for giving you the wedding of your dreams. And while weddings are still (and will always be) a massive part of how we love to serve you, we’ve wanted to re-introduce ourselves for quite some time now because things have taken a bit of a shift and we want you to know about it!
As your wedding is only one of the many memorable events we want to help you create, we’re shifting our approach to how we plan to serve you and how we plan to push past our current borders and serve the world.
It’s Rebekah Dani Events redesigned, and in this blog, we’re sharing with you how we’re embracing a mission that is now so close to the heart of RDE that we can’t ignore it any longer.
Over the past few years, we have planned and designed hundreds of events and weddings. We’ve helped you plan moments you’ll never forget and make memories that have lived on long after the music played out. But over the past few years, we’ve also been doing so much more than just planning your celebration.
We’ve been celebrating the art of it.
Our expertise is in orchestrating every aspect of an event, logistically and aesthetically. Our goal has always been to collaborate with you to design an event that is breathtaking, unique, and an absolute good time so that you can enjoy the once-in-a-lifetime moments, and more importantly the simple ones, with the people closest to you.
And it’s by celebrating these grandiose moments in your life that we’re also giving you the freedom to enjoy simply being alive. As well as, the freedom to spread the spirit of connection and create a movement of celebration across the world.
A movement that would shift the very foundation of how we connect and gather.
As babies, we love being connected to the ones closest to us and celebrated for who we are. It’s at the core of what we need not only to survive but to thrive. Here at RDE, we believe that if we could allow ourselves to become so infected with connection and celebration and embrace the effects of being present in these moments that it could create monumental changes at the core of who we are as a society. It’s because of this that RDE is making a shift.
A shift focused on celebrating ALL of life’s moments – from small to big. We believe if we could encourage creating these beautiful experiences and incite the art of celebration more, from in-home dinners just because to elaborate wedding day parties, it would change the world.
This is why we love what we do and how we get to contribute to helping people become more present and connection-focused.
So as we set our sights on continuing to create celebratory spaces to gather in a post-pandemic world, we hope you join us for the ride. We have some exciting things planned and on the horizon to help you foster this at home and in your lives.
When we mentioned that the goal of RDE has gotten bigger than Rebekah could have imagined – we meant it. While we’ve focused ourselves on bringing the art of celebration to all of our clients’ important moments, we’ve made a pretty significant shift behind the scenes too.
As a company with an internal mentorship focus, we’ve brought our dedication to making a social impact to the forefront of what we do in a couple of different ways.
The first is by helping young women and people jump-start and build their professional careers within the events and hospitality industry. While planning and designing hundreds of events and weddings, we’ve had the beautiful opportunity of leading 15+ young professionals through our internship program (which began in 2018), and we don’t want to stop there.
As a Black-Woman-Owned company, we’re dedicated to making space for underrepresented groups and giving aspiring professionals the tools and mentorship they need to thrive in the events/hospitality industry. So we’re not just putting the call out anymore – we’re belting it so that we make sure to connect with the beautiful people that need to hear it. If that sounds like you, then consider this your official invitation to come and join our team! Our internship program provides you with the space to learn valuable skills and gain experience to serve as a beautiful foundation in your career.
Next, is our passion for service providers in the hospitality industry. As an evolving small business, we understand what it takes to not just simply survive but thrive as a small business. It takes clarity of vision, actionable goals, the right tools and resources for growth, and support and accountability. As a business consultant, Rebekah has helped many small business owners establish their brand, services, and clientele by giving them the support they need to grow and scale every step of the way.
It is said that if you want to go fast go alone, but if you want to go far then go together. With a focus on fostering community, growth, and business expansion, we are launching our VIP Vendor Program this year. This program is being designed to provide you with the community-backed support small business owners like yourself need to pursue their passions.
We are committed to providing resources and tools to as many small businesses and aspiring owners as possible. So be on the lookout for this program launch in mid-2022.
Lastly, one of the things we are most excited about over here at RDE is the shift to honor our dedication to making a social impact beyond our current communities by contributing to causes that are changing the world. One of those dear to us is VOW For Girls, a non-profit fighting to end child marriage that RDE has proudly pledged to.
This is currently a global problem that demands attention, and we have taken steps within our business to make sure we’re part of the solution. Starting in April 2022, for every new client booking, RDE will be donating a portion of the profit to VOW. The donation will cover things from necessary school supplies all the way to an entire year’s cost to attend school for a girl. By educating these young and beautiful girls on what they deserve, it’s our hope that we can be an acting part in advancing their rights.
As we commit to spreading awareness of this cause to our clients and audience we would love to invite you to get involved as well. If you’re a cause-focused couple in the midst of planning your wedding, consider giving to this impactful organization in place of receiving wedding gifts. It’s a great way to make your day meaningful not just to you and your loved ones but to girls around the world. You can learn more and sign up here.
Connection is at the heart of who we are, and through events and design, we craft opportunities for connections to be built and new stories to be made. And by developing more opportunities to impact society positively, we’re helping give everyone the chance to join in on this movement. A movement that’s creating a world where connection, celebration, and living your dreams are easily accessible.
Will you join us?
